WELCOME to my first blog.
Prior to my last placement in Ethiopia, where I volunteered with an NGO called EBCC (Edget Baandnet Children Center), friends urged me to have a blog. I have therefore decided that when I now head of to a three month placement (from Feb-May 2010) in South Africa, I will fulfill this wish. The aim is to stay closely connected with friends and family and take this opportunity to share my stories and experiences during the time we are apart. I hope you enjoy following one of many journeys, and one of many stories.

- The world has never been richer than it is today, humans have more knowledge than ever before on how to handle conflicts in a non-violent manner. The time of reformation has passed, it is time for a "human rights -revolution" with a focus on global economic justice. War should transcend into Peace, Egoism into Generosity and Fear into Love! Martin Luther King Jr said that in our time, humanity faces three major challenges that need to be overcome: racism, poverty and war. During his lifetime the struggles were never enough. Today organizations and states make the promise that the "peace and non-violence" culture shall permeate our countries. Its time for individuals to rise up and meet the challenges and take a step towards acknowledging that we can all make a change towards global justice.
